A propòsit d'Il trovatore
Anti-hero
A central character in a story, film, or drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes.
"I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not." – Kurt Cobain
Like life itself, “Il Trovatore” presents no simple moral dichotomy. Giuseppe Verdi does not paint the grand heroes in shining armor, but rather the antiheroes: figures whose virtues are shadowed by flaws, and whose choices are driven by hearts both fierce and wounded.
In a world where ideals bend and righteousness may not be found on a single path, the musical antihero emerges—marked less by shining virtue than by a burning heart, fierce in its desire, bound only by the tempestuous force of its will.
Under the curation of Nacho Moltó and the musical direction of Albert Palau, Berklee Valencia performs and discusses the music of Fela Kuti, Joni Mitchell, Astor Piazzolla, Elis Regina, Frank Zappa, Fiona Apple, Hector Lavoe and Johnny Cash; each of these artists a testament to the raw beauty of the imperfect soul, which, in struggling against its own darkness, captures something profoundly true.
