DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAMME
This season, Les Arts begins to collaborate with historical enclaves in the city of Valencia, whose architecture make them ideal to host concerts of Baroque and ancient music, such as the Church of San Nicolás, an incomparable setting admired for the beauty of its Baroque frescoes. On this occasion, the countertenor Carlos Mena and Manuel Minguillón, on the vihuela, interpret a delightful programme entitled La vita fugge, a particular journey through the vihuela world that includes pieces by famous masters of the instrument such as Diego Pisador or Miguel de Fuenllana, together with sacred and spiritual vocal compositions such as the motet Conditor alme siderum and the Magnificat by the musician and priest Juan de Anchieta, a key figure in Spanish religious polyphony of the Renaissance.
