CLORI, TIRSI E FLIENO
Cantata a tre by Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759)
The countertenor from Coruña Alberto Miguélez Rouco (whom we heard
as Armindo in the Partenope conducted by William Christie at Les
Arts) founded the ensemble Los Elementos in 2018, with musicians of
several different nationalities, most of them linked to the Schola
Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland. The young ensemble has been
instrumental in the recovery of the work of José de Nebra, a key
composer of the Spanish Baroque. In Les Arts, it performs Clori,
Tirsi e Fileno by Handel, a delightful pastoral serenade for three
voices about a shepherdess in love with two men whom she ends up
losing when they discover her infidelity, and who is performed by
the experienced American soprano Robin Johannsen. Alberto Miguélez
Rouco conducts the ensemble and sings the role of Fileno.
