Recently critically acclaimed for his “outstanding” Wolfram in Tannhäuser at London's Covent Garden, Gerald Finley is making his Les Arts debut with a select programme of Lied, a facet of his career for which he has been compared to the current master of song, the German Christian Gerhaher. And it’s no exaggeration. The voice of this Canadian bass-baritone, a Grammy Award winner, is outstanding for its refined dramatic touch and an amazing ability to communicate with the public, in recital, in concert - as well as in opera, as evidenced by his latest successes at the Salzburg Festival (Falstaff) and the Berlin Staatsoper (The Flying Dutchman).
