Orliński is an unusual opera and charismatic star. His
meteoric arrival in theatres and auditoriums has changed all the
tropes about opera divas. Orliński 's interpretations, the
magnetism that he establishes with the public, arises
spontaneously: without posturing, as they say now. He is obviously
gifted with a wonderful countertenor voice and incredible technical
mastery. This, together with other facets of his life, such as
being a break dancer, or his work as a model in the world
of fashion, has contributed to the Baroque repertoire reaching the
mass public in a way that had never happened before. Sell-outs
follow sell-outs around the world. On his second visit to Les Arts,
he is accompanied by Il Pomo d'Oro, an original-instrument group
that previously debuted with Joyce Di Donato, in a programme
entitled "Beyond", which recovered arias by various Italian Baroque
composers from oblivion.
