Les Arts has once more had the
privilege of inviting Simon Keenlyside, who left us with such fond
memories at his debut recital in 2020. The British baritone offers
a programme featuring some of the best Lieder by Schubert, Brahms
and Wolf, alongside French songs by Poulenc, one of his favourite
composers. He was knighted by the Queen for services to music and
is a Kammersänger of the Vienna Staatsoper. He is a formidable
opera performer who has often appeared at the Metropolitan, Covent
Garden and the Munich and Vienna opera houses, but above all he is
a master of Lied and poetry, artistic facets that he acquired from
his teacher John Cameron and icons such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau
and Hermann Prey.
