The flamenco cycle opens this
season at the Auditori de Les Arts with a guitar legend,
Vicente Amigo. The Cordovan guitar player and Paco
de Lucía were the only Spanish artists who participated in the
Legends of the Guitar concert in 1991, which as part of
the Expo 1992 programme, brought together the 25 best guitarists in
the world in Seville, including Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Joe
Cocker, Jack Bruce and Robert Cray. World tours, his award-winning
discography (Latin Grammy for Memoria de los sentidos), endless
recognitions and awards (1991 Ícaro Music Award, and the Ramón
Montoya Award at the 12th National Flamenco Art Contest), endorse
his exceptional career as a performer and composer. In addition, he
has explored musical fusion, collaborating with artists of the most
diverse styles, such as Alejandro Sanz, Eliane Elias, John
McLaughlin and Sting.
